The Southern African Catholic Bishops Conference (SACBC) Office for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue has joined the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue in extending festive greetings to all Hindus, ahead of the feast of Deepavali (or Diwali), which this year will be celebrated on Sunday, November 12.

In a letter shared with the SACBC Office for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue, the Prefect of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, M.C.C.J. together with the Secretary Monsignor Indunil Janakaratne Kodithuwakku Kankanamalage , send “festive greetings and best wishes” to all Hindus, and urge Christians and Hindus to work together to build peace.
