Feast of the Assumption On the 15th of August we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption. Mary under the title Assumed into Heaven is the Patroness of South Africa. The Assumption was defined as an infallible dogma by Pope Pius XII in 1950—using a combination of Sacred Tradition, the logic of the Immaculate Conception, early Christian writings, and theological fittingness.
