The SACBC board is having a Board Meeting from the 4th to 7th May 2021. The board meetings are important for the follow up in implementation and review of the resolutions that had been taken by the bishops especially in their bi-annual Plenary Meetings. The board meetings are attended by only the bishops who form part of the board of SACBC. The meeting is also attended by different departments and committees that have been tasked to implement the resolution passed by the bishops. The departments and committees make presentations to the bishops on the progress made thus far and the future plans.
At these meetings the Secretary General gives a report on the activities of the secretariat and an overview of how other departments of the conference are doing. The respective departments of the conference will then give detailed reports. There may also be some presentations that are not a typical part of the activities of the bishops conference’s offices. This year one such presentation is from the Archdiocese of Johannesburg which will make a presentation on the Cause for Beatification and Canonisation of Domitilla and Danny Hyams, the Servants of God from the same Archdiocese.
The very first Board Meeting of SACBC took place on the 15 April 1947.
