The teaching Jesus Christ is the real voice of God Himself. A chance of eternal life does not mean certainty of salvation. A proud heart leads to an attitude that is opposed to God. In our hearts we are making decisions.

I am the salvation of the people, says the Lord. Should they cry to me in any distress, I will hear them, and I will be their Lord for ever.
