Cape Town Archbishop Calls for a weekend of prayer for persecuted Christians

Considering growing Christian persecution worldwide, the Archbishop of Cape Town has asked for intercessory prayers for those who are persecuted for their faith.

In a communiqué shared with the Southern African Catholic Bishops Conference (SACBC) communications office, Cardinal-Elect Stephen Brislin asks that every parish in the Archdiocese of Cape Town offers prayers “for our brothers and sisters around the world who suffer for their faithfulness to Jesus Christ.”

The intercessory prayers “for perseverance and courage,” for persecuted Christians are to be recited at all Masses this coming weekend, 26th/27th August.
