The perfect response to this call of conversion is faith. The people of Nineveh are a good example to us. In our context is the turning of our minds and hearts to the truth revealed by Jesus Christ. This faith in Jesus moves us to compassion in opening our eyes to the needs of others.
“Remember your compassion, O Lord, and your merciful love, for they are from of old. Let not our enemies exult over us. Redeem us, O God of Israel, from all our distress.” (Cf. Ps 24: 6,2,22)
