Bishop Reginald Michael Cawcutt, Emeritus Auxiliary Bishop, will be buried on 17 August 2022 at Maitland Cemetary. He will be buried among some of the deceased bishops and priests of the Arcdiocese. His Requiem Mass will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians parish, Lansdowne, at 11h00 on Wedneday the 17 August. Bishop Cawcutt passed away on the peacefully on the evening of Friday 5 August 2022 at about 19h30.

Bishop Cawcutt was born on 25 October 1938, ordained a priest on 9 July 1962, and ordained a bishop 26 August 1992. He resigned from the episcopacy on 17 July 2002. Bishop Cawcutt had been battling with ill health for many months. On the day of his death he was visited in the Lawrence Henry Retirement Home by four Nazareth House Sisters who were present and praying with him at the time of his passing. He had a peaceful death.
