Many believe in Jesus because of the Samaritan woman’s story. She is a summary of how people come to understand Jesus, first as a Jew, then a prophet, then as a Messiah, and as the Saviour of the World. Her past does not hinder her from being a messenger of good news.

Me eyes are always on the Lord, for he rescues my feet from the snare. Turn to me and have mercy on me, for I am alone and poor. (Cf. Ps 24:15-16)
