The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has appointed Archbishop Siegfried Mandla Jwara CMM, Apostolic Administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the Apostolic Vicariate of Ingwavuma. The appointment will be in effect on today, the 8th of August 2021, from the moment Archbishop takes possession of the See of Durban. This means the Archbishop is the Apostolic Administrator of the Vicariate of Ingwavuma, vacant and at the disposition of the Holy See.
The Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Peter Wells, installed Archbishop Jwara as the Archbishop of Durban. The installation Mass started at 11am at the Emmanuel Cathedral in Durban.
Due to lockdown restrictions only 50 people were allowed participate at the Installation Mass.
