On March 19, 2021, the Church celebrates five years since the publication of the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia on the beauty and joy of love in the family. On the same day, Pope Francis launches the Year Amoris Laetitia Family, which will conclude on June 26, 2022, on the occasion of the X World Meeting of Families in Rome with the Holy Father. After five years since the publication of Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis has called for an apostolic vision based on this exhortation: the year of the “Amoris Laetitia Family”, which begins on the same festivity of St. Joseph, March 19, 2021, and which takes place within the context of the present pandemic.
The organization of this task was entrusted by Pope Francis to the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life. Amoris laetitia speaks to us of the love that first manifests itself in marriage and then becomes fruitful in the family, in children; and even touches difficult situations that are common and prevalent today.
Another point in the Pope’s message is related to the education and accompaniment of children.
This new time will allow families throughout the world, their parishes, as a domestic Church, Episcopal conferences and family movements, to take up again the apostolic exhortation. It is important to immerse oneself in the richness of these words, the beauty of family love, in all its biblical, theological and pastoral aspects and always to keep in mind that the Catholic families are the protagonists, subjects of evangelization.
