African Church Leaders praying for Pope Francis

In a statement shared with the Southern African Catholic Bishops Conference (SACBC) Communications Office, the President of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) expressed closeness to Pope Francis and offered prayers for his speedy recovery following his hospitalization.

On the Wednesday, February 19 statement, signed by Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo Besungu OFM Cap, Church leaders reaffirm their solidarity and spiritual support for the Holy Father, assuring him of the prayers of the Church in Africa and its islands.
