Redeem me, O Lord, and have mercy on me. My foot stands on level ground; I will bless the Lord in the assembly. Cf. Ps 25.11-12

This public act of confession on the part of the people of Israel is one that we the Church can easily make our own. We that we too have failed, as individuals and as a community. It is to such individuals and to such a community that the Lord issues the challenging invitation, “Be merciful as the Father is merciful”.
