From the January Plenary of the Bishops at Khanya House to the approaching season of Lent, this edition reflects a Church both rooted in tradition and moving steadily toward greater self-reliance. The bishops gathered to assess the life of the Church in our region, with particular focus on vocations and the vital call to build a self-sustaining local Church. As we mark 75 years since the establishment of the Hierarchy, we see clear signs of growth — including an increasing number of South African-born bishops shepherding our dioceses. With Ash Wednesday drawing near, we are invited once again into reflection, renewal, and deeper conversion. This is a moment to pray for vocations, support our bishops, and prepare our hearts for Lent with renewed purpose and hope.
